Leave Options
LoremTech offers three types of family leave: maternity, paternity and adoption leave. The amount of time off associated with each is dependent on whether the employee is the primary or secondary caregiver, as described below.
A Primary Caregiver is the parent who will be:
• Home with the child during the first 16 weeks after the child’s birth
• Principally and consistently responsible for the child’s care and wellbeing during the workday
A Secondary Caregiver is the person:
• Responsible for the care and wellbeing of the child, but not primarily
Notes:
- Only one parent can be recognized as either caregiver type.
- Leave periods must be taken all at one time (which means time off can’t be broken down or extended over a longer period).
- Leave periods include any company-recognized holidays.
- All leave periods must be completed within 16 weeks of a child’s birth or adoption.
- > Maternity leave
Under LoremTech's family leave policy, eligible employees receive 8 weeks of paid maternity leave, beginning when the child is born. Additionally:
• Primary caregivers are eligible to receive 8 weeks paid leave with job protection. If combined with maternity leave, total time off is 16 weeks.
• Secondary caregivers are eligible for up to 2 weeks paid leave with job protection. If combined with maternity leave, total time off is 10 weeks.
- > Paternity leave
Under LoremTech's family leave policy, employees are eligible for paternity leave as follows:
• Primary caregivers are eligible to receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave with job protection.
• Secondary caregivers are eligible to receive up to 2 weeks of paid leave with job protection.
- > Adoption
Under LoremTech's family leave policy, employees are eligible for adoption leave as follows:
• Primary caregivers are eligible to receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave with job protection.
• Secondary caregivers are eligible for up to 2 weeks of paid leave with job protection.
